Marriage Retreat

It is very annoying to think that a man and a woman used to really love each other, to tell each other nice things, to have children and to share happy moments, and one day, like in a bad magic spell, to realize that all this disappeared for ever, leaving room to never ending tears, fight, arguments. This is the moment when one of the members of the couple makes the decision to retreat, to finish their marriage. In most of the cases divorces are easy. The man and the woman just conclude that they don’t have anything in common, that their marriage was a mistake that they actually live in two different worlds, and then they follow some legal procedures and then they get back to their life before marriage. These are the happiest cases.
There are more difficult situations, when they are not able to share their fortune, when they spend a lot of time in Court as officials can’t decide who will look after children. Actually children suffer a lot when their parents are not together. Imagine happy moments on the occasion of Christmas when mum and dad get the tree ready for Santa Claus, for example, and compare to the same Christmas moments when a kid tells his mum: “Does Santa bring my daddy back?” Many people believe that children’s souls are changed forever after their parents divorce, because all the children are sensitive.
In order to avoid children’s suffering, there are psychologists able to talk to parents and to help them stay together, for their children’s sake, and maybe to love each other again. There are psychologists who can talk to people before they have children, who can ask them carefully if they want that baby or not, if they are a stable couple of not. Nowadays people pretend to be wiser, but they should demonstrate that this is true. Yes, there are methods nowadays to prevent children’s suffering, they must only be applied.
Somebody wrote that in life there are two important things: to choose your profession and to choose your partner. Their influence upon a person’s whole life is enormous. The decision you make is not simple at all, because the factors involved are much diversified – starting with psychical and physical aspects, and finishing with cultural and social ones. In the same time these factors are not constant, but they are in a continuous evolution in time and this evolution can’t be predicted. This means that even if you take measures, you can never be sure that everything will be the same, that nothing will change your life. Even you as an individual can be very changeable. Sometimes we think t
hat it is boring to see everyday the same person around you, and then we start new relationships, not necessarily based on physical love. But unfortunately many partners, after marriage, don’t permit their husband or wife to have other relationships, even with a person of the same sex; therefore I don’t talk about a love affair.
However, when you get married you must think that it is a good idea to be faithful to your partner, as unfaithfulness is a main reason of marriage retreat, but we’ll talk about it on other occasion.
